|It's my birthday at the end of this month!
Hold your applause. I am getting to that point where its harder and harder to get excited about getting older.
Anyway, Rickis sent me a $10 off coupon for my birthday. And not a "$10 off a purchase of $100" ( I hate that horseshit) it was "$10 off a purchase of $25 or more". Which I think is pretty sweet. So I quickly purchased this dress (because I also want to enter their Best-Dressed Summer contest) and I was drawn to the chevrons and pleats, and it was on sale. And I regularly drink the Ricki's kool-aid.
Have I mentioned that when Ricki's puts clothes on sale, its like how things go on sale in the States? Not some piddly percentage off the original price, but a solid percentage off the SALE price.
Seriously, Ricki's doesn't know me. I just really love their stuff. But I digress...
I don't have any dresses like this, and I took a chance ordering it online. When I picked it up in store, I wavered between a 16 and an 18, because the 16 crushed the girls (which is usually an automatic deal breaker) but the 18 was a little blousey in the top, which I didn't feel was the right look for the dress. In the long run, I took the 18, because, like I said, I can't stand it when the girls are crushed. After wearing it for a day, I think the fabric might have let go a bit, and I might have been OK with the 16 after all, but, either way, I'm very happy with the dress. Its a nice light chiffon overlayer, with a thick jersey-like layer underneath. The only drawback I can see to this dress is that it probably MUST be drycleaned.
In the Fall, I plan to wear it with a boyfriend blazer, sleeves rolled up, and black tights and knee-high boots. Little makes me happier, than a dress that I can really wear in colder weather.
The shoes were an awesome find at Walmart for $10! I have been on the prowl for a pair like this, with the high-backed heel and strap over the toes, so when I found these for TEN-FRICKIN' dollars, it was kind of a no-brainer!
On me: Dress (Rickis); Shoes (Walmart / similar); Bracelet (Wetseal / similar); Necklace (unknown / similar)
