Ann Marino black cardigan double-strap Mary Jane fashion old navy OOTD Ricki's Winners
Chevron Dress Remix (For Cooler Weather)
Check. Those. Shoes. Amiright? I love these shoes, but I hardly ever wear them. Let me tell you a story about these shoes...
|Once upon a time, I had a job interview for the first time in years. And I had NO professional yet stylish shoes to wear. Zip. Zilch. Zero. I had sky-high nude platform semi-dorsay pumps (I may or may not have just made up the term "semi-dorsay"; they were dorsay on one side, but not on the other. Anyway, they were NOT appropriate for a job interview. So I went to Winners, and picked these up, and they have TWO count 'em TWO BOWS on the DOUBLE MARY JANE straps, but they still aren't twee. I don't know how they do it. But they do. And I love how they do what they do...
So, last time I wore this dress, it was the height of summer, and I styled it as such. Light strappy sandals, light clear-stoned jewelry; it was all very light the lightness. And initially I thought I could never wear it into the cooler weather, but then... cardigans. And these rad little grey shoes! So, this is my second take on that dress, and I feel it was a success.
So, these shoes... is it just me, or do they have a vintage vibe to them?
I swear I have an inner pin-up / rockabilly chick inside me that I will likely never allow to come completely to the surface, but little elements here and there just call to me. But hey... Halloween is coming up... maybe I'll let my inner rockabilly/pin-up come out. Maybe. Seems like a lot of effort. And I never could get the hang of victory rolls...
