When one door closes, another one opens, right? Seems like that's the case with plus-size retailers (whatever your feelings about the term "plus-size" everyone pretty much knows what that means). While Debs and Wet Seal + shuttered its operations, Target and Charlotte Russe (CR) have expanded theres to include extended sizing! It's kind of ridiculous, that it seems like there can only be so many plus-size retailers, when there is a literal surfeit of "straight" sized retailers, but that's a debate for another day. My most popular post EVAR on Vanity Curve's FB page was a regram of the announcement of the plus size line for Charlotte Russe.
People were excited guys.
And I get it, the clothes are cute, trendy and relatively inexpensive. Whenever I cross the border to do some shopping, I alway hit Charlotte Russe for their shoes and jewelry. Sadly, though, I think I am getting on in years to be wearing Charlotte Russe clothes, and when I checked out the line online, I was pretty much correct. A lot of the pieces are not for me. However, there were a few that I would totally love to give a try (the next time I am in the States and hit a Charlotte Russe store).
Kudos the the CS people for creating a plus line, for making it pretty freaking big (there's 155 pieces. and that's not a couple pieces in a bunch of different colors/patterns, if you know what I mean) and for featuring a model that is ACTUALLY plus size. Granted, she's a "good fatty" (hourglass), but still, she has the lumps and bumps that most human women have.
OK, on to the clothes...
There aren't too many pieces that I would pick from the CR plus size line, but they are junior plus, right? And I am not junior... I guess that makes me senior plus?
