You get kinda used to a certain aesthetic, when you find yourself shopping at a few select retailers. Old Navy, Torrid, Forever 21+, Ricki's, the occasional Addition Elle piece, these are my standbys. And don't get me wrong, they do me right. But its been quite nice to see the different kinds of cuts and designs that City Chic has on offer. Maybe its all in my head, a psychosomatic response, but either way, I'm really diggin' the City Chic stuff...
|I had this in my cart for the first (to me) Outlet sale from City Chic, and I got the dreaded email shortly after placing my order, that it wasn't in stock, and I wouldn't be getting it. I was bummed.
But then, a few weeks later, City Chic had another outlet sale (and a few more since, I think), and I managed to snag it that time. And it was as great as I hoped it would be. I have nothing with the high-low hem (even though the trend might be over already) and I like it on this dress. It's got a crossover skirt, so you have to hold it down in windy weather, but its a great effortless dress that I can see myself wearing the crap out of this summer.
Oh, as an aside, it has a strap across the back top, and I had to tie it almost closed in order to not have to wear a tank underneath. But, once that was done, it fit great!
How about the shoes?? I just joined JustFab, and these were my first pair! I also got a pair in nude, because they are a very wearable style, and so comfortable. Even though they are single sole, and have a pretty good height to them, they fit so snugly (but not uncomfortably so) that they feel great on. And I got such a great deal on them, AND they were shipped to me in like three days! So far, I am really like Just Fab for the shoes (and they have clothing that I think might go up to an 18; but I have yet to test out that theory).
